Define the term "cell injury."
A state of homeostasis exists in normal cells (i.e., an equilibrium with their environment). When the condition of homeostasis is disrupted by unfavourable factors, injury is described as a series of biochemical and/or morphologic alterations. Injury to cells might be reversible or irreversible.
