What is Pathology - What happens when you have an acute inflammatory response?
-Resolution: In the vast majority of cases, all indications of acute inflammation fade away without causing any harm. - Suppuration: An abscess is caused by the cystic action of enzymes released by leukocytes, which leads in excessive exudation of neutrophils and destruction of tissue-localized suppuration. -Shift to chronic inflammation: This normally happens over time, and the exact moment of transition is difficult to pinpoint. - Fibrosis Repair: After tissue is destroyed by inflammation, phagocytes remove the injured cells, and granulation tissue forms into the damaged area. As in an ulcerated mucosal lesion, tissue integrity can be totally recovered, or the entire area can become fibrosed and scarred.
