What is ABC in psychology?
ABC is an abbreviation for the sequence of effects in behavior therapy such as antecedent, behavior and consequence. ABC is a model that is used in rational emotive behavior therapy. This therapy analyses a client ‘s problem in a way which is more systematic. For instance, A is an activating event, B is a mediating evaluative belief and C is behavioral and emotional consequences. In certain cases, it involves D and E where D is disputing and E is the effect of practicing rational thinking.
