Why does behavior change in terms of intensity?
There are reasons why we are so motivated to study today, not tomorrow but remain motivated again the following day after tomorrow. Intensity of behavior depends on time, space, emotion and personality of the individual. Time For instance, we are so motivated to study a week before exam but less / not motivated after the exam is over. This shows that time influences our motivation. Space Space may influence our motivation as certain people love to study in the library while others prefer to study in their rooms. Emotion Emotion is likely to enhance or reduce the intensity of your behavior. When you are happy because you find the exam was easy you are motivated to study / revise for the next coming exam. When you are sad/ disappointed that the exam was tough you are less motivated to study / revise for the exam tomorrow. Individual Personality (Franken 2002) indicates that the person who is extroverted with a sensation seeking personality is more likely to be motivated to take up outdoor assignment compare to introverted person who prefer indoor assignment.
