Differential diagnosis of hand pain
-angina pectoris -Raynaud’s syndrome, thromboangiitis obliterans /Buerger’s disease, erythromelalgia -thoracic outlet syndrome -reflex sympathetic dystrophy -superficial radial neuropathy / cheiralgia paresthetica, handcuff neuropathy -cervical nerve root compression due to herniated disk -brachial plexus neuropathy -ulnar nerve entrapment at the wrist -Dupuytren’s contracture -flexor tenosynovitis such as overuse, rheumatoid arthritis, gonococcal, pronator teres syndrome / median nerve entrapment at level of pronator teres -carpal tunnel syndrome -area of first CMC joint such as osteoarthritis, De Quervain’s tenosynovitis, scaphoid fracture / snuffbox pain -felon / infected pad, subungual hematoma, paronychia -osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis,reactive arthritis, gout, septic arthritis -trigger finger -trauma, overuse, dislocation, fracture, tendinitis
